Background Info

Being brother and sister, Carthage and Claire grew up playing music together in their hometown of Sligo. They are both trained classical musicians, in clarinet and piano and flute and piano respectively. Both played music while at school and in the first couple of years at college Carthage charted 2 Top 40 singles in Ireland with his band, Fiction.

Fiction then split up and Carthage and Claire teamed up the following year and went to America. After a gig in Maine they were invited to perform the American National Anthem at Fenway Park Boston, for the Boston Redsox. This gave Dreamchild their break and so they began recording their first album. Both music videos (for the singles on the album) were directed by Ciaran Carty and shot in America and Ireland.

Claire and Carthage are both college graduates and have been performing both classical and rock music for many years. Later on in secondary school they began to focus more on rock in the context of songwriting and performing. Venues they have performed at in the past include: Vienna, The National Concert Hall Ireland, Fenway Park Boston, Whelans and gigs on The Heineken Rollercoaster Tour.
